Bertrand H. Farr founded Farr Nursery and Landscape Company in 1908 as Bertrand H. Farr Wyomissing Nursery Company on 246 acres in Wyomissing and the city of Reading. It thrived solely as a world-renowned mail order plant business until 1915 when the pressure of suburban living forced the nursery to evolve into a landscape design and installation business as well. Mr. Farr played an active role in the early years of our Pennsylvania Nurserymen's Association. Finally, the pressures of a growing suburban culture forced the business to relocate its operation in 1925 to a new site 13 miles west in Womelsdorf.

Today, Farr Nursery and Landscape Company is building on its 99 years of experience in the industry which has allowed it to remain the areas leading design and installation firm.
